Victorville Area Information
Victorville, the high desert, seasonal community was incorporated on September 21, 1962. Prior to its incorporation, the City’s first settlers were of European decent dating back over 100 years. Victorville had grown significantly as indicated by the 2007 population census estimated at 99,395 and the City weighed in at 74.16 square miles. The full-time Victorville property management professionals specialize in servicing every rental property owner’s needs in the delightful Victorville community.
Around 1885, the quaint community was referred to as Victor. The city was named after the California Southern Railroad (Sante Fe Railroad) construction superintendent, Jacob Natch Victor. Victor was established after the original railroad station was erected approximately one mile northwest of the Majave River narrows.
The Plan for the Town of Victor was prepared on January 18, 1886 which created the grid pattern for the original metropolitan area. The town’s capacity covered one-third of a square mile or approximately 200 acres. The subdivision encompassed the property that spread between “A” Street through “G” Street plus the First Street through the Eleventh Street. Because of noted confusion associated with the City of Victor in Colorado, the United States Post Office changed the community’s name to “Victorville” in 1901.
