Fallbrook Area Information

The Fallbrook community began in what is currently identified as Live Oak Country Park. The Vital Reche family established residence in the unincorporated northern San Diego County town in 1869, which allowed for the first permanent recorded settlement. The family named Fall Brook, the 36,000-acre thriving community after their former homestead in Pennsylvania. The Oak tree was the prime element of forestry within the city and olives quickly became the main harvest by the 1920s. This city in northern San Diego County, California features a rural countryside which distinguishes it from other local communities.

The current town of Fallbrook was plotted in 1885. Although the original Fallbrook School closed in 1939, it now serves as the community’s Reche Clubhouse.
