Carmel Valley Area Information
As one of the newer communities within the San Diego County, California, the Carmel Valley Property Management service can help oversee the daily operations of your property. The master planned neighborhood was formed February 1, 1975 and originally named after the Carmelite Sisters of Mercy. The affluent car-dependent suburban community consists of commercial offices, residential units, retail stores, hotels, and restaurants. The census-designated, sublime pastoral Carmel river valley has emerged into one of the most prominent wine growing regions in California.
In 1905, the Carmelite Sisters of Mercy established a dairy farm and monastery in the area. Although the area was identified locally as Carmel Valley, it was given its institutional name North City West in the master plan. In the early 1990s, the localized name, Carmel Valley was readopted. Nestled into the towering Santa Lucia range, the region offers opportunities such as recreation, entertainment, gourmet food, and premier wine tasting.
Just a few miles east of the Pacific Ocean, the valley offers both unique challenges and breathtaking views. Prior to WWII, millionaire sportsmen constructed mansions in the Carmel Valley and invited their infamous counterparts to hunt boar, play golf and polo, in addition to frequenting horse shows and fiestas. To date, many of the Fortune 500 and other corporate titans visit Carmel Valley for the seclusion and the charm that the suburban hills can offer.
